clinical supervision

UBC psychodynamic practicum supervision

for UBC doctoral psychology students only

this practicum provides an opportunity to become familiar with the evidence-based practice of psychodynamic psychotherapy with adult patients.

students will meet with 1-2 patients weekly for 50-minute sessions at the UBC Psychology Clinic. these sessions will be recorded and presented for review during a weekly one-hour supervision session. readings will be provided in preparation for supervision.

students will have an opportunity to participate in quarterly trainings with the Western Branch of the Canadian Psychoanalytic Society in Vancouver.

this practicum will be offered from september to june and is suitable for more senior students with prior psychotherapy experience and preferably some previous knowledge of psychodynamictory.

for UBC psychiatric residents only

UBC psychiatric residents are provided with an opportunity to become familiar with the evidence-based practice of psychodynamic psychotherapy with adult patients.

residents will meet with 1-2 patients weekly for 50-minute sessions. these sessions will be recorded and presented for review during a weekly one-hour supervision session. readings will be provided in preparation for supervision.

residents will have an opportunity to participate in quarterly trainings with the Western Branch of the Canadian Psychoanalytic Society in Vancouver.
